The amount refunded after the return of a railway ticket directly depends on how early in advance you visit a ticket office/Travelbook website regarding the ticket return and is determined according to the Paragraph 19.11 of the Rules for transportation of passengers and luggage:

  • Returning a ticket more than a day before the train departure: in this case, a passenger gets a refund of the reserved seat cost, ticket cost, insurance charge and bed linen cost. Ukrzaliznytsia fee and Travelbook fee are not refunded.
  • Returning a ticket within 9 to 24 hours before the train departure: the ticket cost, insurance charge, 50% of the reserved seat cost, and bed linen cost (if included in the ticket) are refunded. Ukrzaliznytsia fee and Travelbook fee are not refunded.
  • Returning a ticket within less than 9 hours before the train departure: only the ticket cost, bed linen cost (if included in the ticket) and insurance charge are refunded. Ukrzaliznytsia fee and Travelbook fee are not refunded.
  • Returning a ticket after the train departure but no later than within 1 hour*: in this case, only 10% of the cost of a reserved seat and ticket, full cost of bed linen, and insurance charge are refunded. Ukrzaliznytsia fee and Travelbook fee are not refunded.
  • Returning a ticket if more than 1 hour has passed after the train departure: in this case, the ticket cost is not partially refundable.

* In this case, tickets can be returned if you show identity documents of a passenger whose data is in the ticket. All the remaining cases also allow other persons who have identity documents with them to get a partial refund of the ticket cost.

Please note!

  • In case of the loss of an Order Form or Boarding Document, you can once again print these documents by yourself from either your Personal account or email. After that, you can successfully return tickets at a ticket office on a railway station.
  • On the Travelbook website, you can return a ticket through your Personal account.
  • In case of the loss of a ticket on a strictly accountable form, the document cannot be reissued and returned.

If several tickets are returned at once, it is enough that one of the passengers performs the refund. This passenger must have an identity document with him/her.

Attention! If a trip did not take place by the fault of Ukrzaliznytsia, 100% of the ticket cost would be refunded to a passenger.
